Diary of a Born Dancer!

I really need to do a better job of updating this thing! So much has changed since the last date. I have moved to Durham NC, got a new job, started teaching bellydance classes, and have been traveling and performing almost nonstop. I'm actually up to four classes a week now. Durham is great! I originally didn't want to move back here because I went to college here years ago and felt like I already knew the area. This place is kinda fun the second time around. Some of the same people that I went to school with are still here. Right now, I working on creating another dance community: A Polynesian dance community. Right now, there's two of us that perform Polynesian dance and we want to expand and get more people exposed to the beauty and grace of the dance. I never underestimated the work, time and patience needed to start something from the ground up, but sometimes I do wish it would happen a bit faster. Oh well, I just have to stick with the plan.

I do enjoy the bellydance community here. Unlike the "group" of people that I only associated with before, the ladies here are actually very supportive, forward thinking, community-minded. Such a refreshing change from the backbiting, undercutting, bad-mouthing sneakiness that happens so often. SO much gets done because we come together and work together. Not everything can be done by yourself.
