I'm compelled to write again. There is so much that I should have written about before: My first Rakassah, the Fode Camara workshop, and finally starting the company. Maybe I will detail all of that some other time.
You know why I dance? Because it always makes me feel better no matter what I have to go through to do it. I was scheduled to dance at the Dalia Carella Hafla tonight, but I have had a really draining week. So, I wasn't feeling quite myself when I got to the venue, and wasn't really sure if I wanted to dance or not. I decided to go ahead and put on my costume anyway 'just in case'. Well, I ended up dancing anyway and really enjoying it. And I got to meet Dalia herself, who told me that I was wonderful and had great musicality. Thank you Dalia!
I also learned some new veil techniques from Aneena who does amazing things with double veils. I've seen double veil before, but i have never seen anyone do it like her! She was kind enough to show me how she gets her veils to actually do what she wants them to do.
It ended up being a good night. I'll wrap this up with a qoute from one of my dance colleagues: "Sometimes all you need is a little adoration".
